Electronic Bible Library New American Standard Bible® (NASB®): Since its completion in 1971, the New American Standard Bible® has been widely acclaimed as the most literally accurate translation from the original languages. La Biblia de las Américas® (LBLA®): This translation was completed in 1986 by The Lockman Foundation and is an original translation from the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek into modern Spanish. It is a literal word-for-word translation that is also easy to read. LBLA® Cross References and Marginal Notes: LBLA® contains extensive Cross References and Translators' Notes. Over 25,000 verses contain a Cross Reference to more than 43,000 words or phrases. These Cross References in turn make over 91,000 references to other verses in the NASB®. Over 14,000 verses contain Translators' Notes on over 19,000 words adding to the accuracy and clarity of the translation. King James Version (KJV): The KJV version of the Bible was very accurate according to the manuscripts available at the time it was translated. Since the KJV there have been a number of earlier manuscripts discovered. The NASB is based on the earlier manuscripts and is considered by scholars the most literally accurate translation of the Bible. American Standard Bible (ASV) of 1901: This translation is the American counterpart of the KJV and was published in 1901. The ASV, a product of both British and American scholarship, has been highly regarded for its scholarship and accuracy. NAS® Exhaustive Concordance with Hebrew-Aramaic and Greek Dictionaries: Based primarily on the Hebrew-English lexicon by Brown, Driver, and Briggs and the Greek lexicon by Bauer. Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary: An eighteenth-century masterwork of learning and devotion. Matthew Henry (1662–1714) studied law at Gray’s Inn and was ordained a Presbyterian minister in 1687. He served churches in Chester and in Hackney, near London. He began writing his famous commentary in 1701. This concise edition makes a great reference and study tool. Institutes of the Christian Religion—John Calvin John Calvin is best known for his monumental Institutes of the Christian Religion written as a theological introduction to the Bible. After appearing in several editions beginning in 1536, Calvin’s Institutes was finally published in this authoritative edition of 1559. Commentary: Critical and Explanatory on the Whole Bible—Jamieson, Faussett and Brown. A work which has earned the reputation of being trustworthy, conservative, devout and practical.
